Welcome to Family of Faith Nursery!

We´re excited to be serving your little ones.

We believe that from birth a child can be shown the love of Jesus. During these early months and years, they are forming attitudes and impressions about God and the church based on whether their stay in the nursery is a pleasant or unpleasant experience.

Your child is very special to us, and we strive to provide a caring and loving environment for them. In order to better care for your child we have laid out some guidelines. These guidelines are a tool to aide us in maintaining proper care for your little one. Your cooperation will help us greatly.

Please have only one parent bring the child and pick them up. Due to safety and security reasons, no one is allowed in the nursery other than workers, parents, and babies. Entrance to change a diaper or nurse a baby is by permission. We do have a privacy room for nursing mothers.

When you bring your child, please:

  • Sign your child in and write down any special instructions.
  • Please make sure we know where you will be.
  • Please try to have your baby changed prior to service.
  • Have all of your child's belongings labeled with your child's name.
  • We suggest that you bring a bag with the following items: (All items should be labeled so that we can return them to your bag if removed)
    • A diaper bag
    • At least two diapers per service. Include a plastic bag for cloth diapers.
    • A plastic bottle or cup marked with your child's name.
    • A pacifier or other form of security.
    • An extra change of clothing in case of emergency
  • Parents will be allowed to enter nursery to feed their own child. The nursery workers will be able to feed by preprepared bottle or cup only. No high chair feeding or plates and utinsils.
  • It helps the children if you leave quickly and don't return until it's time to go. Your child may cry when first left. This reaction is normal and healthy. If his/her crying does not stop within 5-10 minutes we will notify you.

Health Policies

We ask that you keep your baby at home with any of the following symptoms and/or illnesses. Please err on the side of safety for the sake of others.

  • Fever
  • Runny Nose
  • Questionable Rashes
  • Coughing
  • Diarrhea or Vomiting
  • Unusual Fatigue or irritability
  • Impetigo
  • Active Chicken Pox
  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
  • Flu like symptoms

If your child is being treated with antibiotics, he/she should be on the drug for at least 24 hours and free of fever before coming back to the nursery.

Supervision

Supervision is provided by members of a nursery team made up of the Nursery Director, Staff Supervisors, Room Supervisors and workers. All nursery workers are volunteers. If your child shares in the use of the nursery facilities, we urge you to volunteer to help in the nursery. We are always in need of helpers, and your assistance makes it possible for us to provide a high quality nursery program. Nursery commitment is one hour per Sunday per month, a time commitment that we feel all nursery parents may find easy to contribute.

Please call the church office(231-547-4221) or contact us with any questions or to become a nursery volunteer.

The nursery staff reserves the right to refuse any child they feel is too sick to place in the nursery.

If your baby/toddler has any symptoms that are due to noncontagious conditions (allergies, etc.), please let us know.
